Chris Wu is a Vice President of Investments on the Builders Initiative Investment Team and is energized by improving ocean health and scaling the blue economy through investing in businesses, projects, and funds. Before joining Builders Vision, Chris was a Vice President at Impact Engine, a venture capital and private equity firm investing in companies and funds driving positive impact in the areas of economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, and health equity, where he specialized in climate tech investments. Prior to Impact Engine, Chris spent 10 years as an engineering consultant providing structural engineering services for the design and construction of municipal water infrastructure as well as green buildings, including the world’s first skyscraper to earn LEED Platinum certification. In 2013, he took a break from engineering to become the owner/head baker of a small mill & bakery. Chris holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Chris serves on the board of Openlands, a leading regional conservation nonprofit and nationally accredited land trust.
